Mexican Revolution
The Mexican Revolution was one of the greatest revolutionary upheavals of the 20th century. It began in 1910 and according to the Mexican Government still goes on today. It stayed Relatively "Globally Anonymous" , and did not interfere with the outside world. It stayed contained to its own barriers.
CausesThe Mexican Revolution was brought on by many factors, the biggest one was that they had great conflict with their dictator, President Porfirio Díaz. Diaz Suppressed political rights for "Economic Development" and "Foreign Investments". He often bribed people in order to get what he wanted, and if they did not take it and refused it or refused any order from him for that matter, he had them arrested, beaten or murdered. By doing this he got rid of all people who opposed to him and or his reign. The church turned away from helping people who came and spoke of Porfirio's harsh actions, because their hands were tied and dare they speak badly about him, that could mean death for them. Without the church on the people's side, they had no one and it was Porfirio against them. He created a large unbalance of power by taking land from the poor and giving it to the rich who already have plenty. By doing so he was creating even a greater gap in the two social rankings, and he is also just making more people become more impoverished. Homeless, landless, and poor people made up 9.5 million of the rural 12 million people. The main causes were that Porfirio Díaz ruled a dictatorship for nearly 30 years and also the immense separation between the rich and the poor as well as exploitation and harsh treatment of workers and citizens.

EffectsWhen the Mexican Revolution was over, there was both negative an positive effects. In 1929 The Institutional Revolutionary Party was created. This was one of the good benefits of the revolution, because now they had this group which dealt with many groups' concerns, including those of workers and business owners. This was so significant, because prior to the revolution, no one was able to speak about problems or concerns that they had. This was a way for the government to get a chance to really listen to the people and their needs and how to make their country better. Also with a new government came a new leader, Venustiano Carranza. He was elected president of Mexico in 1917. It was a good change to have him as leader, because Porfirio had ruled for too long and did not do a very good job with it. The government gained more control over the economy so that there was no more forcing the "richer rich" and the "poorer poor" on the people and have a more equal society. The government also set minimum wages foe workers so that no one would be getting overworked with out pay or even underpaid. With all these good changes, it was probably good that the Mexican Revolution occurred, because if it did not Mexico would have gotten much worse than it ever did.
